Cooper Tire is an American company whose roots trace back to 1914. Originally making tyre patches and repair kits, the company moved to Findlay, Ohio where they are still based today.

Cooper Tires Australia was founded by Terry Smith. The general manager of his family tyre shop chain in Canberra, he travelled to America for a tyre show in New Orleans. After coming back with an exclusive deal to sell Cooper tyres, popularity exploded and Terry, alongside his wife Susanne, created a Brisbane based wholesale business focused on delivering Cooper tyres to the Australian market.

Today, Cooper Tyre enjoys a reputation for high quality 4x4 and off-road tyres. The company takes feedback from customers as well as localised, Australian testing to constantly improve and develop their tyre patterns to suit the Australian market.
